About Summer Love
The Summer Love Music & Arts Festival is a community event highlighting artists and musicians, supported by local business owners. We are bringing people together to raise money and resources for #Smileback. An evening of entertainment, music, art, food, and local vendors from around Charlotte.
About the Project
In 2018 Summer Love wanted to change things going forward. This includes the focus of the event and even a rebrand. The rebrand was to help people understand that Summer Love was going in a new direction and would not be completely focused on music and art. Going forward Summer Love would be a different theme each year and have a different focus. For 2018 the event was set up to line with the world cup and focus everything around it. Summer Love came to Inner Geek looking for help with redesigning their logo, creating all event promotion materials, and helping with the social media team

Completed Project
The Logo Design was the most important to get done first so that it could be used in all of the other materials. The logo needed something that showed summer but would be something that would not need to be redesigned. The end result was something that was a bit retro and modern at the same time. The color scheme was made to use the simple blue and orange color combo with a twist to make it unique.
The entire idea for the event materials was to go with a postcard style design. The idea is that the World Cup is coming to Charlotte and Summer Love is the host for it. The flyers were made to be actual post cards half of the print run was used to make some that could actually be used to mail to people the other was used to give more info on the back of the card. The posters also followed the same design as the flyer and used a horizontal format. This would help give the poster a unique spin with it being posted in areas as it would standout with all the other portrait posters.
